Some wounds become verses,
some tears become prayers,
and some broken hearts

We are
burning. to embrace
the forgotten stories
of the land. once
held in our palms and
unfolded from our mouths.

now.
as delicate as moth wings.
and just as magic

Roots of oak held darkness.

i thundered within the shelter
of my bones.

am i at the centre
of my own life

Or

mending the tracks. the walls.
bending the stone into roads?
