My lab’s response to the rise of LLMs over the past three or so years has not been to churn out larger numbers of papers. It has been to push that churn away and focus on artisanal production of a few science ideas and manuscripts (as we did before). I hope that turns out to be the right decision!

Rigour, craft and art aren't incompatible with emotional accessibility. Far too many poets, editors and publishers equate accessibility to a supposed dumbing-down of the genre, looking down on any poets who attract a wider readership.

Half the fun & enduring appeal of DS9 is that it realizes that given that the Federation is a bunch of pleasant but boring weirdos, & all the human drama is to be found among the aliens, it helps to have more aliens in the cast
No, your point is about staying sane in a world of instant gratification machines. Even if they do sometimes use money, they don't need it & they rarely worry too much about not having it. Likewise they have healthy hobbies & rarely worry too much about the temptation of the holodeck (cf. Barclay)
