We need to get money out of politics. Let's start with Elon Musk.

Politics hits different when you're an "issue" instead of a citizen

it's always telling when you can tell if someone just got into israeli politics after '24 or if they were aware of politics beforehand because the former seem to think Palestinian politics were invented as a reason to sink Joe Biden 2024

Elon Musk has spent more money on politics in the last 2 years than George Soros has spent in his entire lifetime.

Of all the bbc presenters, Webb’s politics are the easiest to read - because he puts them in newspapers and doesn’t even try to hide them in broadcasts

His politics are also mind numbingly predictable
The presenter of #r4today opines.

what does it say that Herbstreit is ashamed to admit to his politics
Last month, Kirk Herbstreit said he doesn't follow politics or pick sides.

Which was nonsense. Just last week, Herbstreit quietly headlined a fundraising dinner for Alabama's second-biggest PAC.

The very next day, the PAC sent $155,000 to Tommy Tuberville.

Apolitical Kirk Herbstreit is actually a GOP fundraiser
He headlined a pro-Tuberville PAC event last week.

More proof that people who are paid to have opinions about politics invariably support fascism and know nothing about politics.
brazil supreme court decision to seize flavio bolsonaro’s passports immediately after the election looks like political retribution to most brazilians (and to me).

rule of law not what it should be here.

I hope that a defeat of Flavio Bolsonaro and Darline Graham drives a stake through the heart of nepo-politics, leaving Don Jr. worried and sad.

… A new Susan Collins campaign ad that includes this line on Troy Jackson is being blasted as elitist and out of touch with ME voters, many of whom are blue collar and rural.

From the outside, a lot of DSA internal politics these days looks like a clash between people who are becoming increasingly successful at democratic politics and people who want to act like authoritarians despite having no actual authority
The other resolution (which passed 15-12) calls on Raman to meet with DSA-LA leaders by Nov. 30.

If she doesn't affirm her support for BDS and sign on to DSA's campaign to stop Israeli weapons transfers at LAX by Jan. 1, the NPC could vote to expel her. docs.google.com/document/d/1...

Healthcare is a changing topic in American politics and the GOP are being left behind.
October 27, 2026 at 2:40 PM
Politics is the art of forcing the votes "there." You do that by ratcheting up the pressure through relentless accountability.
"The votes aren't there" is cowardice masked as savviness.

There has to be accountability for their crimes. The House has a duty to make the case here and if some GOP senators want to weasel out, make them own that vote.

Don't let pundits and "strategists" talk you out of doing your damn job.
Kamala Harris: I think that going in the direction of impeachment is not a good idea.

I was in the Senate for the last go-round, and the votes aren’t there.

I think after the election, we all have to just also agree that our attitude has to be to get stuff done…

Also you can actually HAVE FUN with the STUNTS and that is good politics.

on some level, this is just a form of anti-politics.
A helpfully clear exchange here

Hasan: "So your argument is that [Minnesota ICE protesters] should stay at home because immigration is a salient issue for Donald Trump. Opposing ICE is only going to help Trump. Wait until we win the election in 2028."

Yglesias: "Yes that is what I would have said"
