Sorry, but it is possible to be happier than this.

Although there is something deeply enjoyable about van burger/coffee at the right moment.

For example, off the top of my head, when on a dawn patrol road trip going to surf the day's first breaks at Polzeath when 17 and stoned as a bushman.

It is impossible to be happier than when eating a cheeseburger and drinking a scaling hot cup of instant coffee that come from a caravan at the side of an A road. It's even better when you're on your own.

A very evocative piece of writing Matt. Zandvoort was a favourite of mine in the 80’s. I had a chance to go back through a Dutch friend but decided not to. Sometimes it’s best not to revisit places from your youth (I’m thinking of you, Polzeath).
Grew up reading NR & AH. Oh to be a fly on the wall.

Here's Polzeath beach Cornwall but this is good for watching the Perseid Meteor Shower & twinkling stars.

Its camera resolves to colour during daylight, so this is only monochrome but it creates more definition.

Had a couple of days spare as Hannah is at camp vc so I rode to Lands End and back. Stayed in stunning Polzeath for a night, then on to LE only to turn round in the car park as it was unbelievably shit. Biggest disappointment ever.
