Just found out Pontins in Camber Sands shut down and was abandoned two years ago. It was fucking dogshit and falling apart when I went there...20ish years ago? But there's still some melancholy seeing a place like that completely abandoned and left to rot

Private self drive has benefitted from being subsidised by the explosion of commercial *driver accompanied* traffic .. this is dissipating away.i have also long ago tweeted, unless public money subsidised, the Chunnel & large frequent crossing ferries will become progressively commercially unviable.
