Data Centers are not "job creators."
They are resource extractors, siphoning off our water and power.

Why do 8 data centers in Gary, Indiana have power
BUT MOST OF THE RESIDENTS HAVEN'T HAD POWER OR WATER IN DAYS.
August 24, 2026 at 3:02 PM
Gary, Indiana is 77% percent Black.

Thousands have been without power for nearly two weeks.

Many are without safe water.

Yet every data center is operational & using enormous amounts of both power and water.

This is what oligarchy looks like.

Everyone suffers so the 1% can make even more.

Texas: The Land Of No Water And Power open.substack.com/pub/lonestar...
Hey Texans, do you like air conditioning, running appliances, being able to shower etc. We need to demand that data centers supply their own water and electricity at their expense. This is not sustainable.
Texas: The Land Of No Water And Power
The grid is under pressure, water is an open question, and Texans are left holding the risk.

In Spain today: installation of solar panels above major irrigation channels. Channels of more than 100 kms transport water from dams to farmland.
- Reduces evaporation
-Provides large agricultural areas with power & supports irrigation
-Decreases use of water in food production, doubling the crop.

What if we made data centers erect solar panels and water catchment to
POWER
THEMSELVES???

Uhm. Require data centers provide their own power, water and environmental impact remediation?

It's impressive that Big Tech was like: We aren't douchy enough. What if we made asshole intelligence and burned up some of the earth's power and water faster?

WITH WHAT WATER? AND ON WHAT POWER GRID??
If the plans come to fruition, Texas would have more Google data centers than anywhere else in the world, CEO Sundar Pichai announced with Gov. Greg Abbott. bit.ly/49UoTrr

Nuclear power needs water. Wind power & Solar does not.

Food isn't expensive.
Water isn't expensive.
Even power isn't expensive.

Mega-rich bosses demanding gigantic profits are expensive.

Gen ai is poisoning our power grid, stealing intellectual property, using precious water, and ruining the internet with unreliable information and garbage imagery. Don't use it, and don't normalize it, even for laughs.

“Everything is good around them” except the local power grid, the water table, and the utility bills.

Mark Zuckerberg built a massive data center in Georgia just hundreds of yards from people’s homes. Now the water pressure is gone. Sinks don’t run. Toilets won’t refill. Homes shake nonstop. Power outages are routine.

Almost midnight in Kyiv.
Calm.
We have power, water.
Drops of rain gently sing a lullaby
to those who didn’t sleep last night.

Please, don’t take for granted
the quiet treasures you have –
power, water, windows, a roof.

You don't realize the power of water until you watch it casually roll a boulder the size of a house down a valley in Nepal.

Seems like these data centers that nobody really wants are doing nothing but using up our power and water resources and contaminating our water supplies.

Hardly worth it so a few men can gather up all our information.
