Designed for your existing REST, GraphQL, or tRPC APIs. No backend migration.

Bonus: Works with sync engines (@electric-sql.com, Trailbase, PowerSync) for real-time updates with near-zero incremental network cost.

I made a guest post on @powersync.com's blog: powersync.com/blog/collabo...
It describes a demo we made of collaborative text editing on top of PowerSync's DB sync engine, using character IDs & totally-ordered updates in a DB table (w/o CRDTs).
Collaborative Text Editing Over PowerSync
This blog post describes the resulting demo of collaborative text editing over PowerSync. The demo uses Tiptap as the editor, has basic support for shared cursors and anonymous share links, and includ...

Ok, really feels like I’ve crossed a milestone with Bartab 2.0 out.

• Firebase -> Supabase (so NoSQL to SQL AND moved auth)
• Synced local SQLite DB via PowerSync (everything feels so fast 🤩)
• Moved Vapor backend to free Render instance (and lessened dependency)

The “network tarpit” kills a lot of mobile apps: retries, spinners, offline logic...you know the feeling.

With @powersync.com & Expo you can skip the tarpit entirely. Local SQLite, background sync, offline-first.

Finally took the time to set up local instances of Supabase and PowerSync. Surprisingly simple to get up and running actually.

Also set up Cloudflare tunnels for them and the local Vapor server, so I can develop on real devices.

Supabase auth and PowerSync in place now, surprisingly smooth in both cases. Had one hiccup where PS documentation didn’t cover the new Supabase JWTs but that was quickly resolved on their Discord channel.

After that, I’m assuming I’ll have a boat load of refactoring to do to fit everything into this new and improved data structure.

Not to mention the implementation of PowerSync and the SQL shenanigans that follows with that.

Hopefully it’ll all be simpler afterwards!

We’ve added an India region to PowerSync Cloud (ap-south-1)

If you’re building for users in India, you can now host PowerSync closer to them.

We already work with great customers in India, and there’s good time zone overlap with our engineering teams based in Europe and Asia.
