For posterity to anyone sharing this hyper-specific scenario, here's the command to run in an elevated command prompt:
powercfg -requestsoverride process obs64.exe display
Excluding "display" reverts the settings. Other overrides not recommended, as sleepmode mid-recording is understandably buggy

Wish that OBS allowed screensavers to run by default, instead of needing to dig for a workaround via powercfg. The ability to use a pure-black screensaver on my new OLED monitors is great, and having OBS as a replay tool is also great, but they go together like oil and water out-of-the-box

Laptop battery replacement successful. Went from a tired battery that could hold no more than 2 hours on a charge to something better, hopefully. Haven't calibrated it yet.

Fwiw: `powercfg /lastwake` or `powercfg /devicequery wake_armed` usually find the culprit and Device Manager can turn it off per device. Middle of the night may be a wake timer though, those are turned off elsewhere.
(Haven't used Windows in a while but used to have these problems A LOT. Was WoL.)
