Seems like a pretty big part of central #Melbourne CBD and inner east has power disruptions. No info on public transport disruptions in the area, though VicTraffic reports "A large power failure has caused up to 40 sets of traffic lights to be out across the CBD, East Melbourne and South Yarra."

Power’s out. Spoken to Powercor. It’s definitely not from their end. Tried all the tips and recommendations. No luck. Waiting for our local sparky to come from Drumborg to have a look. It’s Oscar day and seems to be One Battle After Another at the moment. Fuck sake.

Wow. So Powercor came onto the farm to work on a line, cut a bunch of mature nut trees down to ground level unnecessarily, and took 6 weeks to say "internal investigation found this action was compliant" in response to our complaint. Bastards.

Powercor wants to run a trial of 100 x 22kW EV chargers on powerpoles in Western Vic - including 4 in Ballarat.
It's far from the first trial like this but it's good to see - it's an important piece of the puzzle for those without off-street parking at home.

I was also trapped, by Powercor. They insisted I needed a Bluetooth device on the meter to tell me how much power I'm using. The meter is 250 mtrs from the house so fine if you want a walk.
Anyway I'm just about ready to go off grid.
