I've been cynical about voting for a long time, essentially my entire adult life. I've also voted in every election I've been eligible to do so. I'm not interested in convincing anyone else what they should or shouldn't do. I'm famously ambivalent about the power of voting to effect real change.

More than a corrective—this is the first step to a realignment. A realignment to values and practicality and common-sense politics. But, please, no one yet declare "America is back." We need to bring America back and that does not happen overnight.
