I worked in a prek for 2 years, and I don't remember a lesson on LGBTQ, but I do remember many lessons on the alphabet, numbers, colors, and shapes.

I am a PreK teacher and was on break...the leetles are napping now...I have 4 1/2 hours to go in my day...my body feels sick as you said....my mind is pounding with utter rage....I am not at all violent but want to hit or throw or smash...and that is making me feel more like throwing up

We're in a pretty similar situation. Our school zone is for one of the better high schools in our city, but a the more-localized elementary level, the primary school (PreK-2) had levels of violence and persistent behavioral problems that caught us totally off guard.

I still recall the sub I had in elementary teaching me to write my name in katakana. Couldn’t tell you anything else about that lady. But that exposure completely changed my options and my life. Howard’s lack of Black men enrolling starts from preK-2 with boys like the one I taught.

Last week kiddo #2 transitioned from preK to summer camp. She had a blast - zip line, petting zoo, swim lessons, water play, new playground, sandbox... she is living the life!
Last week, she also managed to lose 2 hats, a water bottle, and 2 sunscreens. The transition is going *fabulously* 😭😭😭
