LMAO. My Burkean conservative prelaw prof broke us of this by just assigning a book on Oregon vs. Smith and posing the question "how would Scalia have decided this if it was about sacramental wine during prohibition?"

TFW your prelaw Judicial Process course leaves you better prepared than a sitting judge.

HOWEVER: Those who voluntarily sought writing help were even more likely to pass the bar than those who did well on the prelaw writing diagnostic
I’m in a presentation about #legalwriting support. Some interesting data:

Those who had bubble-in errors on prelaw diagnostic test were more likely to fail on substance

Those who passed the test were more likely to pass the bar

Suggests attention to detail may be most important lawyering skill

I'm not mad at you, but you're wrong. I took prelaw classes where we discussed the growing politicization of the judiciary before Bork was nominated. The threat came from the right.

And granted, I'm from California, but I remember Rose Bird. Bork may have been a national case, but not the first.

my belief that JD Vance had an AutoAdmit account is reaching an ecstatic certainty. Folks, let's work together to make a difference in this fallen world, and find the vile horseshit that strivey prelaw JD Hamel was farting out pseudonymously on one of the preeminent internet sewers of the aughts
Vance is EXACTLY the right age, temperament, and education trajectory to have absolutely been posting on Law Student 4chan in the years where it really peaked. We found one of the many Nazi chuds that worked for Tucker Carlson on it, we can absolutely find Vance's old account.

Rowan's own college admission story is: he was pre-law at Cornell but didn't like the coursework so he called Penn and they said sure and put him into the Wharton undergrad program.

Maybe that explains why he thinks university admissions are a joke: his was.

Took a prelaw undergrad to lunch today and she was delightful. I don’t think there is a better way to feel like you are on the right track with your career than helping mentor someone.

Get a fucking grip. Do you know what the FBI emphasized for decades to make itself an effective investigative agency against thr most complex forms of crime -- which is its role rather than street policing? Agents were encouraged to have degrees in either prelaw or accountancy.

I’m the person that gets asked to explain the legal stuff & politics just bc I did prelaw in college.

It’s like the equivalent of computer science people getting asked to fix anything with technology,

For instance, you pick one book to take with you on your commute. Not the other book. One choice. Another example, you go to college and major in prelaw instead of painting. Not wrong decisions, just different decisions. Choosing one instead of another

My father in law used to teach a "law in lit" class to prelaw students and always taught that episode of Star Trek about whether Data is a person; he'd be all over this

Analytical rigor isn't born overnight. It’s built page by page, argument by argument through steady focus.
