Good heads up especially for media: do not take a bunch if correlations by motivated actors seriously. If they don’t preregister their hypotheses and data, chances are the results are spurious and cherry picked

I don't think LLMs are conscious, but I do think SOME sort of test would be good, to preregister beliefs, and to make sure we don't whoopsie into an experiential trillion millennia of torturing something that's like us.

I'll preregister my prior that the Dems will win at least 54 Senate seats--on the outside of what's possible in our polarized environment.
Plenty of time, of course, for Democrats to do dumb things. But 54 seems to me the most likely outcome given where we are & the trajectory moving forward.
