"The Ritual" Traditional full color illustration done in vivid watercolors of an ancient Vulcan ritual. The piece is structured like a comic page where we see Kirk's profile in the first panel looking surprised, the next panel is a detail shot of his eyes widening at the view. In the center of the composition is the main part of the page, not being contained by paneling, of Spock wearing a traditional costume made with sculpted bones. He's standing tall in front of a column with his arms extended, hands opened on top of two big flames at his sides. The next panel is a focus of Spock's intense stare when he locks eyes with Kirk and in the last panel we see him raise a hand, the signal that the ritual dance is commencing.
