#PrecisionFermentation
Food for thought… 💭

Bear in mind that although #PrecisionFermentation would be ideal, a plant based transition alone could potentially eliminate 3 billion hectares of agricultural land, hence allowing a mass rewilding movement #BiodiversityCollapse #LandUse #Rewilding

💯 #PrecisionFermentation doesn’t receive near enough attention in social justice/climate circles. If governments were truly committed to change, precision fermentation facilities would be being built everywhere instead of energy intensive AI/data centres

#PrecisionFermentation gotta be the way forward to replace #palmoil 💚🌱
Longer term, governments can support alternatives like precision fermentation & cultivated meat which allow the production of meat, palm oil & soya products with a tiny fraction of the environmental footprint of existing agriculture.

Here's @georgemonbiot.bsky.social to explain how it works.

Before you put your nose up at lab grown #cheese, bear in mind:

Precision fermentation has the potential to create sustainable food solutions to many of the interconnected challenges facing global communities, from food security and land use to environmental degradation and pollution.

But... what is it?

Besteuerung, Regulierung, Behavioural Nudges oder Innovation (#precisionfermentation?) sind alles mögliche Lösungswege.

#PrecisionFermentation is the most promising option I’ve seen as per transforming our broken food system. It looks to be the one technology that has the potential to mitigate the climate crisis and end world hunger

Farming is a tough job & it's only getting tougher as our climate changes.

But what if there was a better way to feed 10 billion people, one that didn't involve hardship, slaughtering animals or wrecking the environment?

There is, as @georgemonbiot.bsky.social explains.
