He prided himself on being Mr free thinking military procurement person. But the revolution in war that Ukraine have led through force of necessity just does not fit his narrative.

It's true: 2 years ago the DoJ wasn't filled with evil liars. It was filled with hyper careful conservative (small and capital C) lawyers who prided themselves on being able to win to the point that they wouldn't bring a case if it wasn't a slam dunk.

But that ended 2 years ago, very publicly.

The British Army always had a saying that the US were the best kitted out army in the world and the worst trained, whilst we prided ourselves on being the other way round. Mind you. I'm not so sure that we could organise a piss up in a brewery in those days.

There is no "Canadian exceptionalism".

The only thing we prided ourselves on really being is not being like the yanks.

I agree with you on the rest.
October 10, 2026 at 7:22 PM
Oh I absolutely agree, we always lag behind.

I wish it wasn't like this.

Living next to a behemoth such as them, sh*t tends to spread here faster than down there from us.

I think we prided ourselves on not being like Americans, knowing this. But since Carney, *sigh* much came as a shock to me.

Man! I know you never had great examples of healthy love & don't really know how do it, & consents not something Ancient China prided itself on, but you need to practice asking for permission instead of forgiveness

Lmaooooooooo if OP really prided themselves on caring for others, wouldn’t they themselves step outta the elevator instead of pushing a handicapped person away?

Once, I was a bodybuilder. I was the strongest kid in my school. I prided myself on being able to pick up a grown man and throw him over my shoulder by the time I was ten.

I've been the Heavy Lifter of our haus for years, but last week I couldn't lift a heavy thing. I'm 55: end of an era, tbh.

You know I’ve prided myself on not doing that. But you’ve changed me. Im going to be a better, more empathetic to stupid people person.

Starting tomorrow.

We once prided ourselves especially those in public office on acting cultured, competing at the highest standard of civility. Somehow the corrupt "Bullington Club" self-serving took over, and now some cheers the most toxic, vulgar, uncultured pub louts cranks who demands to lead the discourse.

Immigrants. I am so old that I remember when Americans PRIDED OURSELVES on being a “nation of immigrants.”
Who are these racist punks who can’t be proud of that???

This is not Australian values. We've always prided ourselves on co-operative policing This is the sickening US and Israeli influence over our govt. The militarisation of police only leads to Fascism.

I love history (studied it, in fact). And I always prided myself on knowing a little more about American history than most Europeans. But the last ten years have humbled me. There is a LOT I didn’t know - especially within the period from 1865 to 1945. Blinded by a certain perspective, I guess..

This country, man.
It is always sinking lower, shows no signs of recovery, and is becoming the exact type of impoverished dictatorship it once prided itself on being the antithesis of.
That's the kicker: It became the 3rd world hellhole it used to accuse other countries of being, except its supposed

Most parties have gatekeepers, who guard against entryism & ensure idiotic motions like Speitan's don't even get on the agenda, let alone passed. Greens have always prided themselves on being different: they may now be repenting at leisure. 4/4

I worked for a member of Congress who prided themselves for their bipartisanship but also tried to position himself on the side of good governance, democracy, and accountability.

They voted for impeachment and later criticized it. They criticized James' charges in NY.

Education is often treated as a luxury, but it is more than that- it is the crowning achievement of the United States. We once prided ourselves as a nation where every child can succeed and can become a doctor or architect or pilot, but now, where is that pride? In a museum.

I love how "fixing plumbing and electricity in other people's house" is clearly maternal instinct while *hovering over a skinny teenager to make sure she empties her plate and tinkering your prided recipes until she does* is, in fact, not.
And seeing gender identity as a diet is... *chef's kiss*

I’m gonna get the answer on the Tip question for myself. I have a plan of attack here that shouldn’t make it too hard, just a bit tedious. If I really wanted to be lazy I could get a CBS homie to ask SportRadar but I always prided myself on beating the Radar folk to answers. No crutches lol
