Reminds me of when Toyota discontinued the PriusV in favor of making hybrid Rav4s, which are objectively much larger than Rav4s from even 3 or 4 years ago. And despite being so big, it still fits less than my PriusV, which I will drive until the wheels fall off.

We just paid off our 2017 priusV and we will drive it til the wheels come off because that was the last year they made it.

I ended up buying a Rav4 Prime to replace my dying PriusV; not because I wanted another ICE vehicle, but because we had issues with charging my wife’s EV on longer trips, and knew the expanded charging infrastructure expected under Biden/Harris was dead.

a Bentley driver in Doha. At the time we drove a one year old Toyota PriusV hybrid hatchback which wasn’t available there on the local market. Apparently more than one Bentley-owning Qatari was into the idea of a Prius hatchback so we had been stopped before to ask if we’d sell.

I have a 2017 priusV which is the last year they made it, because they now put all of those resources into making RAV4 hybrids (which are observably larger than RAV4s were just a few years ago).

We have a 2017 priusV, which is basically a prius station wagon and which was discontinued in 2018 in favor of a hybrid RAV4. My mother-in-law is constantly telling us how we need a bigger car to justify her giant Jeep and so I take lots of pictures of all of the things I can fit in the giant trunk.

My priusV hatchback is a real workhorse. Really annoying they shut it down in favor of more rav4 production.

We had a Niro and I loved that car. Replaced the engine and still was getting 50+ MPG. Hubs totaled it hitting a deer one am heading to work. Now have a 2017 PriusV. And a new fucking car payment. No used Niro was available and HAD to get a car so we have the Prius. Miss my Niro. Had been paid off.

Bought our PriusV hybrid back in 2013...still looks and runs like it's brand new. And the 48-55mpg gas mileage doesn't hurt one bit 👍

SUV’s are not meeting the market. We LOVE our station wagon (the discontinued #PriusV) but there is nothing comparable on the market. We either need to buy a truck to have similar space needs or go with a sedan. The RAV4 hybrid, which replaced the Prius V, is less fuel efficient & has less space.
With the world heating up [and more pedestrians being killed], why are more SUVs being sold?

I will keep my PriusV. Fuel is below $3.00/gallon. $22/month for fuel at a low of 32.5mpg in city driving. 48mpg highway driving the exact same way I did my 1973 350slc eurospec Mercedes Benz.

Yep. Automakers went in the wrong direction. In 2018, #Toyota replaced the #PriusV, which had mileage at 5.8L/100 km with the #Rav4 which, even 8 years later, only gets 6.0L/100 km. In other words, they replaced an excellent vehicle with one that was smaller & less fuel efficient.

Note to self, while a half sheet of plywood will fit in a PriusV. You need smaller for a Ford Escape. At least the ones I’ve owned.
