Save states are also useful to learn the game, it's what I use to train in shmups without console ports and training modes (ex: Progear).

Been checking out Cave's Progear on the Capcom Arcade Stadium and it's a really pretty, really fun time -- look at the gorgeous pixel art windmills. The weapon switching, gem sucking mechanic feels very satisfying

I GOT IT!!! My first ever clear of a Cave game - Progear no Arashi. I went off route so much that I didn’t think it’d be the run but, with no lives or bombs left in stock for the backend of the final phase, I micro dodged well enough to pull it off!
