Today's task I just completed to avoid doom scrolling was going through a storage tub of CDs to reunite discs and liner notes with jewel cases. They'd originally gone from cases to ProLogic sleeves, then later from sleeves to zip up flip storage cases, so it's a miracle even some were reunited. 🎉

a thing I like about Laserdiscs is that pre 1991 or so, most discs had a lossless prologic matrixed track, so between the 80s and the introduction of DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD, it was the only lossless surround format (except, ofc, it was three front, one back, which is a sort of absurd arrangement)

Ja, und das Floppy-LW später um Faktor 60 beschleunigt. 400DM (Prologic DOS) zusätzliche HW, statt serieller Paralellübertragung, Zusatzspeicher in LW um einen Track in einem Umlauf mit Interleaving 1 zu lesen, Overclocking von 1 auf 2MHz, Lüftungsschlitze und fetten Lüfter zur Kühlung eingebaut.
