For the record, that adds up to 20mg cetirizine twice a day, 20mg loratidine twice a day, 20mg famotidine twice a day, 50mg diphenhydramine once a day, and 25mg promethazine twice a day.

Dosage/timing: 50mg diphenhydramine (Benadryl) or promethazine 15 minutes before vaccinations, or 20mg cetirizine/loratidine or 10mg levocetirizine 2-3 hours before. It does not affect vaccine efficacy, it just prevents you from feeling like death.

For diphenhydramine and promethazine, it's "25-50mg every 4-6 hours until you no longer feel like shit"; for cetirizine or loratidine it's "20mg every 12 hours until you no longer feel like shit".

(The diphenhydramine and promethazine was mostly to manage the MCAS reaction from new environmental exposures + eating more things I probably shouldn't/things that were new to me and I didn't know if I'd react to them or not.)

That having been said, fexofenadine is usually the h1 antihistamine of choice for "people who don't tolerate diphenhydramine well" bc it's a second generation H1 (diphenhydramine and promethazine are first generation). Maybe try that one first if you're in a country where promethazine is rX only!
