Last night (4/1), NDN, Black Hills Clean Water Alliance, and Earthworks filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Forest Service for their decision in February to grant a permit for exploratory drilling in Pe’ Sla, a sacred and protected Indigenous site.

Last week, we became aware that there are at least 2 active drill pads operating at Pe’ Sla within the 2 mile protected zone.

"We filed these motions to stop the drilling before irreparable damage is done to the land," said Tracey Zephier, NDN General Counsel.
