Nach Protesten in Los Angeles: Auch andere Städte gehen gegen Trumps Migrationskurs auf die Straße 10. Juni 2025 – Nach dem Ausbruch massiver Proteste in Los Angeles gegen Trumps Migrationspolitik formiert sich nun ein Widerstand in mehreren US-Städten. San Francisco, New York, Santa Ana, Austin, Dallas, Atlanta und Louisville haben sich auch den Protesten angeschlossen. Besonders in San Francisco waren es laut Polizei sogar tausende Demonstranten, die friedlich demonstrierten, jedoch gab es kleinere Zwischenfälle am Abend. In Los Angeles kam es zu einer heftigen Auseinandersetzung: Der Einsatz von Tränengas und Gummigeschossen durch Polizei und Nationalgarde war gezielt gegen Demonstranten gerichtet. Der Hintergrund: Razzien der Einwanderungsbehörde ICE, bei denen mehr als 40 Personen, darunter Minderjährige, festgenommen wurden. Diese Aktionen gelten als Auslöser der Proteste, die sich dann auf andere Städte ausweiteten. Der eskalierende Schritt der Regierung: Präsident Trump entsandte zusätzlich rund 2000 Nationalgardisten und 700 Marines nach Los Angeles, zu den bereits eingesetzten 2000 Nationalgardisten. Kritik folgte prompt: Kaliforniens Gouverneur Gavin Newsom sprach von „Machtmissbrauch" und einem „diktatorischen Präsidenten“. Kalifornien reichte Klage gegen diese Einsätze ein. Neben den Küstenstaaten meldeten sich auch Aktivistinnen und Aktivisten und Bürgerinnen und Bürger aus dem Landesinneren. In New York protestierten Dutzende am Trump Tower und riefen unter anderem „Bringt sie zurück“, ein Slogan gegen Trumps Abschiebepolitik. Auch in den Städten Austin, Dallas, Atlanta, Santa Ana und Louisville zeigten sich Bürgerinnen und Bürger solidarisch.
