Oh, le Simon & Garfunkel à Central Park. Une de mes madeleines de Proust. Excellent choix.

Eliot didn't move to England until 1914, when he was 25. All the modernists (Proust, Woolf, Wyndham Lewis, Pound, Stein Joyce etc) came of age before cinema was an established cultural presence. The movies were important for some of them, but not a formative influence.

Yes, it's so much more relaxed and you can go and have a great lunch in lovely Cabourg, where Proust took his holidays. Much more civilised!

You're sitting alone at a café with an untouched croissant, pretending to read proust while actually watching a pigeon wrestle with a paper bag outside. The pigeon could be hungry yet you're not offering it some of your untouched croissant. Why is that, @minormobius.bsky.social ?

I don’t remember. I should review my notes on the matter given the deepfates operation. I have never “read Proust” of this I’m very confident. But why was I on one about Proust, maybe it was the romantic thing, to have been so influential despite being unread. Inspired by Proustian moments??
