During a speech at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Texas on August 28, 2026, President Donald Trump exhibited unusual bodily twitching that prompted analysis by forensic psychologist John Paul Garrison. In a video published August 30, 2026, Garrison described the episode as consistent with a focal aware seizure or partial seizure, noting its progression from Trump’s right arm to his left arm, eyes, and voice. The psychologist emphasized that this was not a simple muscle spasm but a neurological event potentially linked to post-stroke conditions or other brain-related issues. While acknowledging that his analysis is subjective, Garrison highlighted the concerning nature of the episode, which occurred mid-sentence as Trump boasted about stock market performance. The incident has sparked discussions about presidential health and the need for transparency, with critics calling for further medical evaluations. This event adds to ongoing debates about Trump’s physical and cognitive capabilities, raising questions about his fitness for office amid a politically charged environment.
