Chairwoman Lisa Cupid announced that Cobb County and the City of Mableton reached a final, one-year agreement under which Cobb County will continue providing law enforcement services to Mableton while the city establishes its own public safety operations.

Chief Dean Pinto told the Township Committee that dispatching will move to the Bergen County Public Safety Operations Center (PSOC) with county CAD mapping, camera access and cross‑training; residents raised concerns about officer safety and local knowledge.

Police presented the department’s AB 481 (military equipment) annual report, naming 15 equipment categories used for public‑safety operations and listing 21 deployments in fiscal 2025–26 (drones 9, armored vehicle 8). Staff reported no complaints and posted the report online. Council moved to waive full reading and introduce the required military equipment use policy (ordinance 969).

Senate Bill 506 would allow county commissions to lease county-owned wireless towers to entities beyond nonprofits, require cybersecurity safeguards, exclude certain foreign adversaries, and was reported to the full Senate as amended after the committee added hold-harmless language for counties.

Budget adjustments include reduced vehicle funding and direct salary allocations for clerk treasurer.
