using a punchdown tool isn't that bad and they aren't that expensive either—it's way less of the tiny wire manipulation that you do when threading RJ45 connectors. I'd say if you're going to be doing a bunch of toolless, it's worth getting side cutters / a punchdown tool / parallel pliers / tester
