Because it seems like gen xers and genzers got caught by them in a way that millennials simply didn't.

"I only watch good media and anything I don't watch is Problematic" is dangerously close to reactionary puritanicalism in its fastidiousness towards perceived goodness and attaching your identity to the things you watch. Of course it isn't as easy or black and white as that, either.
