There’s a reason doors open outward in large public buildings with pushbars and not handles. To remove friction in extraordinary situations.

Surprised it's not mandatory to put the manual release on the same handle you use for opening it normally.

In an emergency, you're not equipped to problem solve or remember a special process you don't practice often. Like putting pushbars on emergency exits.

They should put pushbars on buses so they can push illegally double parked cars out of the way

On a side note, I'm moving closer to getting pushbars on my ♿️! it could potentially be a game changer in summer as it will make it a lot easier to try out wheelchair umbrellas and/or canopies which will allow me to go out more, not just in the mornings to avoid the heat🤞
