American persimmon
(Diospyros virginiana)

I remember Pears Soap but this is a new one on me.
And here's a fact about Persimmons.
Its history dates back to prehistoric times.
Native Americans ate it dried.
Persimmon is an Anglicized version of 'pessamin' or 'putchamin' an Algonquin word which means dried fruit.
