the final Emperor of China, Puyi, who had been a Japanese collaborationist puppet, was captured by the Soviet Union. KMT leader Chiang Kai-Shek wanted to shoot Puyi and demanded him. The USSR refused, expecting the Communists to win the Civil War, keeping him in their back pocket

Puyi, who had previously deflected all blame for everything, finally came to realize the gravity of what he had done as "Emperor". In his despair, he became suicidal, but Jin Yuan comforted him, telling him he should write his memoirs/confession. Puyi gradually came to accept communism.

I was reading about Puyi and now I'm thinking, could we redeem Mr Beast into a communist in the same way Mao redemmed Puyi? Probably not, but worth thinking about.
