It’s made the cost of services to non NDIS PwD’s completely unaffordable. Agencies won’t take on non NDIS/Aged Care clients because $$’s.

I can only imagine that the abuse will increase as some MP’s + their supporters/media play politics with this. They need to explain that many PwD’s requiring support get none whatsoever. I have to change my bedding, do laundry, vacuum, clean shower/toilet from a w/chair + I’m labeled a bludger?

Tbh it’s a relief to see it so overtly. At least the rest of society is seeing what parents of PWD’s experience on the daily as passive discrimination. I’ve always known the enemy watching how people interact with my daughter. My one job in life has been keeping her safe from monsters like this.

At this stage it looks like I’ll be leaving the house for the 3rd time in 12 weeks on Monday. Life shouldn’t be like this for PwD’s, it really shouldn’t. It’s not like I use a large cumbersome wheelchair or need heaps of support, it’s that I don’t have any support. It’s not good enough #auspol

Agreed. I work with plenty of wealthy folks. They. Did. Not. Vote. And were LOUD about it. PWD’s and seniors were out there voting for their lives, and the rest of the able bodied population stayed home. Again. I’ve held my nose and voted. Complacency has taken over in Ontario.

Using "but people with disabilities" as an excuse to oppose any improvements to the urban landscape when they don't care or consider PWD's opinions on any other issue. (Or even that better transit and bike lanes might be a boon to PWD).

The NDP forced the Liberals to introduce the Canada Disability Benefit. However, they are delaying it as the government controls when the funding is released. Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives would scrap the benefit entirely.Cruel & callous treatment of PWD’s must end. An NDP government will FIX IT!

In the 70s, activists fought for reproductive rights, environmental rights, LGBTIA rights, and healthcare for seniors and pwd's, military. Protect SS. They even fought for wild mustangs and won. Republicans have done everything in the 2000's to end all of this. The media helped. FFS.

I'm so sorry. I used to work in complex care homes & in private repsite for PWD's, but in Canada. Even here, the poverty level of people with disabilities is severe. At least their medical care is covered. The challenge is in housing, recreational, social enrichment. Our provincial CON$ervatives 😡😡😡

I use always "wrong" as password.
So as I always forget pwd's, I type just anything and the computer helps me. It says "your password is wrong".

There should be a probe into Mental Illness underdiagnosis in Labour MPs, because no one in their right mind would be trying to castigate PWD's as much as they are.
