Wow. This story.
Like QAnon these people are so easily influenced by crazy, unfounded, unscientific propaganda & many will die.
Trump touting magic beans and magic healing beds doesn’t surprise me. He probably has his name engraved on them. Anything to make money off his desperate sheep.

Almost exactly a year ago, Trump posted an AI-generated video of what I then considered to be one of the absolute weirdest and cruelest conspiracy theories out there: Medbeds. (Apologies for the thread, but this one was a real journey for me.)

I wonder why Jack Dorsey isn't posting his weird anti-vaccination QAnon-influenced comments here? Maybe he knows what the reception would be?

despite what you may think, you can pretty much draw a straight line from these guys--peretti, farris, and their cohort--to qanon. (peretti's first novel predates the mcmartin case by years.) the satanic and "groomer" fantasies are about the fear of kids being influenced by outsiders and "corrupted"

It seems like they missed the part where Moot, they guy behind 4chan and /pol, met with Epstein and *may* have influenced/created the Qanon nonsense to divert people into this kind of red-twine type thinking to undermine the credibility of anyone talking about what really happened.

the short of it:
4chan is an online forum, /pol/ is a subforum on it responsible for the rise of the alt-right in the 2010's, the QAnon and Pizzagate conspiracy theories, and possibly a ton of impactful GOP electoral victories including Trump's

Epstein potentially influenced the creation of image boards that generated gamergate, qanon, and all the discord that brought us this hellscape?
It turns out, /Pol/ wasn't just the random offshoot of 4chan, a board set up to kind of contain the right-wing chuds and keep them off the other boards...
... but was, instead, created THE DAY that 4chan's founder met with Epstein.

Here in Australia, the whacky, fringe anti vax groups got influenced by Qanon and then further influenced by whites supremacists who realised that it was easy to take advantage of conspiracy theorists. It happened with frightening rapidity.
