Yeah, this IQ constellation looks good. EVM was at about 10.2%. This QPSK carrier passes lock.

If you did QPSK with 1/2 FEC you'd get about 6kbaud good down to 6-9dB SNR. Nick the Digital Radio Mondiale Mode A modulation and you could probably get 16.4 or 23.6kbps with 10.7dB or 15.3dB SNR and ~2/3 FEC rate.

Viewdata worked down to 1200 Baud (1200/75) and downloaded roughly a page (40x25=1000 bytes) every few seconds. The channel raster for LW is 9kHz, so with about 8k used and a decent channel filter I reckon you could get about 6.6kbaud with BPSK or FSK. With QPSK/4FSK/4PSK you can double that.

Amazing success on 30M using FLArq and qpsk-125 on a 600ish mile path tonight. Passed emails flawlessly. So used to using mfsk type modes I was truly surprised by psk!

Still in the 20th century, I designed DVB-S tuners and made this screen shot of a demodulated QPSK signal from an oscilloscope. (As you see in the upper right corner of the plot below, there is a linearity issue.)

I run this decoder on the IQ recording made by @radiotelescoop.bsky.social during the lunar landing. The SNR is reasonably good, so the constellation has few bit errors.
