i had really wanted to get the unicorn panel quilt finished before the quiltcon submission deadline, but there's just no way. i'm already getting a little jacked up about my november travel plans so i have to remove unnecessary stressors

Quilts have historically been used as social discourse. Starting perhaps in 1836 with Lydia M Childs who made a cradle quilt exposing an abolitionist viewpoint at a Boston fair. Art is important to life and politics. cshockart.com/2026/02/24/q...

Welcome to #Quiltsky where every post with the word quilt in it ends up!

I would like to attend QuiltCon. I'm not local, but I have family I can visit to make it worth the trip. Just need to see what our schedule is like when it gets closer.

Taught my mom--over the phone--to use instagram so she can look at quiltcon pictures all night. Best. Daughter. Ever.

@bunnydisposition.bsky.social highlighted the resistance-themed quilts at this year’s Quiltcon and….damn. The artistry and power is amazing. Go check out the rags or look at Emily’s feed for more.
The resistance was beautifully on display at QuiltCon.

almost all the quilts i’m seeing on social media from quiltcon are political messages. thinking about going hunting for sad conservatives in the comments for a schadenfreude top-up

quiltcon is v mid century minimalist, so i expect these to be jettisoned for aesthetic reasons. i haven’t submitted them to a lot of places due to size requirements but i’m working on it!

(my mom was there, we were in atlanta for quiltcon 2023. i had a quilt in the show, and built in a day to go to the aquarium bc of the whale sharks. i yapped at her about the animals the whole time, apologized for it, and she was like 'no i will listen to this forever')

i entered 3 quilts into quiltcon 2023, so i'm familiar with that process. $20 per entered quilt, $20 for return shipping if you get in, cool
