Colours (blue, red, and yellow or brown) and the block are inspired by a quilt made by Annie May Young featured on the cover of the book "The Quilts of Gees Bend".

In 2006, the artistry of Gee’s Bend traveled across millions of envelopes nationwide when quilts by Gee’s Bend artists became the first works by living quiltmakers ever featured on U.S. postage stamps.

Today, quilts are honored along the Gee’s Bend Heritage Trail in Gee’s Bend. Open 365 days a year
