I used a Cotton Carrier Harness for my Canon R5mkii and 200-800 Lens, and like you it's just fine for all day use with the harness taking the weight while not in use.

Thanks Alan, that last trip was a great experience. But the R5Mkii gives me way more hits than misses so i'm ending up with more saved shots now.

Because it can only be used from 300-500 so limits the closer end of the lens. And because I rarely take the 1.4x & 200-800 off the R5mkii.

I know how that feels Mary, I've had the R5mkii for over a year now and still haven't used most of the settings.

I usually carry 2 cameras with me, the R5mkii with the zoom lens and the R7 with the macro lens.

That is the hard part now I've got the R5mkii, I'm getting more hot shots than delete ones. So I'm finding it hard choosing which to keep, I usually hold on to around 1k - 1.5k out of 4k photos taken.

I use the 200-800 with a 1.4x extender for nearly all of my shots, coupled with the R5mkii. I have put my 100-500L lens on the R7 as a back up if it's a really dull day.

No they are not, so i might take a look at Panamoz. It's where i got the R5mkii and it was almost £1500 cheaper than my local camera shops.

I don't do many videos, and it's usually with my phone if i do, even though the R5mkii has a 8K video function.

I generally use my 100-500 on the R7 crop sensor and stick my 200-800 (sometimes with the 1.4x on too) on the R5mkii.

Thanks Steve, i've found it to be excellent and a decent upgrade from the R7 (which i still use), when the bird and background blend together the R7 would mostly drop focus where the R5mkii didn't. Plus the 45mp photos is great and still lots of settings i've not got into so far.

I still like using my R7, but it's usually just got the Macro Lens on it, and use the Zoom Lenses with the R5mkii. And I have noticed the hit rate has gone up compared to the R7, especially with contrasting backgrounds.

I still get plenty of misses too NorfolkM, and i don't think i will ever ;learn the full capabilities of the R5mkii.
