McLaren officially departed Formula E following the recent season-ending London E-Prix, resulting in a saddening exit of the team formerly known as HWA Racelab and Mercedes-EQ.

Maserati has revealed that it will be fielding Tatiana Calderon and Carrie Schreiner in next month's all-female Formula E test. Both drivers have previous FE experience, with Calderon having represented DS Techeetah in the 2018 in-season test at Diriyah, whilst Shreiner was with HWA RaceLab. Calderon is currently competing in IMSA for Gradient Racing, but has previously raced in IndyCar, WEC, Formula 2, Formula 3 and Super Formula. The Colombian driver will be one of the most experienced drivers in next month's test at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Valencia, and cannot wait to drive the new Gen3 EVO. “I’m really excited to join Maserati MSG Racing and I’m already enjoying working with some very familiar faces that I have worked with previously," said Calderon. "I drove the GEN2 car but the GEN3 EVO is a very different experience and the evolution of the car from Season 10 (GEN3) to Season 11 (GEN3 EVO) makes a significant difference from a performance perspective. "Testing time in Formula E is so limited so each session has critical importance so I want to do the best possible job for the team in Valencia to help them prepare for the season ahead. "With one eye on the future, I also want to make the very most of this opportunity to show the team what I can do. I’m very proud that the team has shown this faith and trust in me and I can’t wait to get started in Valencia.” As mentioned, alongside Calderon at Maserati will be Schreiner, who is currently racing for Campos in F1 Academy. Schreiner sits ninth in the F1 Academy drivers' championship, with her best result of the year having been sixth at Zandvoort. The 26-year-old German driver has achieved a lot of success in endurance and touring car racing, with Schreiner having won the 2021 Nurburgring 24 Hours. “This test is an important opportunity for women drivers to gain visibility in the world of Formula E and I'm proud to have been selected by Maserati MSG Racing to take part in the Valencia test," said Schreiner. "Driving a Formula E car is a unique and challenging experience, the car handles unlike any other and to make the most of the test, I need to adapt and prepare as best as I can. "After a successful seat fit and an intense sim session, I feel ready for the big day and I’m looking forward to showing the team what I can do.”
