Improving ventilation will reduce transmission. It won’t eliminate it, but on the figures I have, it will at least halve transmission. The ventilation in many RACF shared spaces is dire.

I cover RACF and most of the residents on the “Covid-19 highway” corridor were positive. I had to go into these rooms to examine the residents. All with windows shut!
I didn’t catch Covid. Checked with Pluslife and lab PCR. No symptoms. I wear my N95 at all times. Fit tested.

Attended RACF yesterday in my usual N95; asked to RAT (fair enough) as covid in facility, most staff still unmasked/surgical on same floor. It's actually like we learned nothing at all. Or don't care?

Our new study of Southeast QLD RACF websites found limited info on food, nutrition & dining practices. Key areas like foodservice models & allied health were most mentioned, while assistive equipment & personalised nutrition plans were rarely featured. So much work to be done buff.ly/MHgD400

Maybe it depends on the aged care, as my mother did have a couple of stints in hospital due to things that weren't easily "cared for" in situ in a RACF
