Fuck Hilton. Abolish ICE.
A chat between me and a Hilton customer service as I requested to delete my account. The chat agent informed me I would be losing 25,607 points in my account. I responded I would rather lose my points than my dignity. An email from me to Hilton Guest Correspondence and ceo@hilton.com that reads To whomever it may concern, I wanted to write to express my absolute disgust at Hilton's decision to remove the franchisee who correctly refused stays for ICE agents in Minneapolis. You claim that Hilton should be "a welcoming place for all" but you cannot both welcome ICE agents AND the community members they are kidnapping and shipping off to one of the most horrible prisons in the world. Those two groups are inherently incompatible; allowing ICE means that community members are neither safe, nor welcome. And as you have chosen to side with the federal agents, who, just this morning, murdered a woman who was trying to prevent the kidnapping of her neighbors, I can no longer in good conscience stay at any Hilton property. I have already requested my HiltonHonors account be raised for deletion, and I will be encouraging everyone in my life to do the same. While I do not believe that merely losing customers will be enough to sway you, as you were fine choosing ICE agents over other customers to begin with, my money does not have to fund this evil. I encourage you to watch the multiple videos circulating of the murder yourself, and not just listen to the DHS statement. Eyewitnesses have said their statement is full of lies. But then, that would require you to believe in the community you have left out to dry, so I do not have high hopes. I also encourage you to read the Third Amendment, as Hilton's actions seem to indicate they haven't. Have the day you deserve, Rebecca

I do feel a bit sorry for Trump. I am sure he wants to do the right thing even if for the wrong reasons. And it takes a certain bravery or at least foolhardiness to attempt to deliver a miracle. I feel no joy or vindication for having been proven right. More like dejection.
