One feature that might be unique (I don't have a RAMLink) is that if you plug it in to port-expander with a REU it can actually detect and use the REU as an additional partitioned drive.

RAMLink XL build complete! Had a bit of a false start, as not compatible with U64 latest firmware (1.24 was last firmware version that worked). I then tested with a C64 Reloaded mk2, but that also failed (but may work with timing clip from what I read). Switched to a real C64 and it fired right up.

I think my retro days are over in terms of actual use of 8-bit stuff, but I loved my 128 when I had one! I had it all tricked out. RAMLink, CMD hard drive, JiffyDOS, Hayes modem, Star Micronics printer, GEOS. Good times! The scene mostly interests me now from a nostalgia standpoint.

What do they do? I was a big fan of Commodore back in the late '80s/early '90s and had some pretty cool upgrades (JiffyDOS, RAMLink, CMD hard drive) but ended up giving it all away when I moved to PC. I still love being an observer in the retro scene, though!
