I've been trying to get back into Pokemon. I'm enjoying an RPGMaker Fan Game called RBGenesis+. It's like a remaster of RBGY using GSC assets & systems, updated maps, modern features from Gen 8, new events, and stuff. They've even got Blue (or Green/Leaf) from the manga as an additional rival.

The lack of a smaller, child centric toys set sucks so much because like. They could totally do like a RBGY Pewter Gym set with the Lego bricks since its so small and square. Imagine a little Geodude stud you clip on

was thinking abt how Pokemon has been rly weird about rereleasing their old games and i think a lot of it comes down to the game corner being a factor. sure they got rid of it in Gen 5 so there's no excuse for those not getting anything, but RBGY all the way through DPPt just had straight slots

It seems to just be straight emulation like the 3DS releases of RBGY and GSC with some event flags enabled so I guess it's not too big of a shock but bro I am not spending $100 minimum on a Switch Lite for an Alakazam get the fuck outta here

the sailor is the only native FRLG rumor since its the "buy it OR DIE" sailor that circulated back in the day while everything else was a remnant of RBGY in a remake of a game where those glitches got fixed

Red and Fire were first to exist because, to me and @tikibuns.bsky.social, the original art was so vastly different we thought “well what if they were two separate people?” Thus the AU began of RBGY and FRLG being their own entities

the most generous interpretation would be "oh but if it gets a physical version it will be preserved" they did not do physical versions for RBGY, which are only on the discontinued 3ds eshop or preinstalled on certain no longer sold 3ds models. also switch carts are too expensive for <8 MB of data

Fucking G006le has gone and fucked up all the little browser icons that show you what's what in pinned tabs. I didn't *like* the RBGY standard but at least I knew where tf my calendar was!
