Optiscaler is actually neat as fuck because even though I'm on RDNA3 and I "have" FSR4.1 there's A LOT of games that are still HARD LOCKED to FSR3 which is just fucking abysmal and so fucking bad...

While nVidia didn't support it on desktop until 2025 with 50xx series, AMD RDNA3 did in 2022. Perfectly possible that Nintendo requested it for their custom chip, since it's not just Ampere stuff under the hood.

Complete anecdata, but I had an RDNA2 GPU on Windows with a lot of artifacting and stability issues. Reseated the memory, swapped to an RDNA3 GPU, similar issue.
What fixed my issue? Swapping my HDMI cable for a different one.

Yooooo I was so mad the ROCm Compute Profiler’s Roofline analysis didn't work on RDNA3 when I built RNS8, do you know how much extra work I had to do? Well they fixed that and now Desktop GPUs are getting The Good Software.

The issue is that the good version is locked to the newer AMD cards (RDNA4) and the last gen stuff (RDNA3). Stuff like the Steam deck are using RDNA2.
