I dislike the remakes flattening the games into that style as a whole tho, losing the unique texture of the OGs game-to-game or because it’s redundant to me (RE4make). I went back to OG RE2 for my annual replay this year because RE2make felt redundant last year after playing Evil Within.

It either affects the gameplay or it's not meaningful, it can't be both. I don't believe in things too small to be meaningful especially in game design, a lot of animation is sweating the small stuff. I'd say the issue with RE4make is that they didn't. And that *is* a problem. I don't like RE4make.

Its not rly a meaningful constraint, in fact u usually see it in place of meaningful constraints nowadays like how RE4make uses heavy accel to try & compensate for the butchery of the originals controls. A lot of this stuff doesnt even go that far think SOR4 accel

Maybe much the same, but I do think it's worth disclosing how the Xbox One was exempt from a lot of cross-gen releases that still got PS4 ports (Metaphor, RE4make, etc), but also the Xbox as a dedicated console is on its way out, no way their next hardware isn't a PC box

The second half feels like a sequel to RE4make so your enjoyment will hinge on how much you enjoyed that game I suppose. I honestly never finished it. I actually ended up uninstalling and replaying the original re4 hahaha.

got the re4make on sale a lil bit back. i ammmm enjoying it. but. i do think i actually like the original a lot more. there is a weird lack of focus throughout with too many copy and pasted single-use-key chests and wayshrines that's just oddly off putting. and the barrels in the boat segment. wtf.
