Meanwhile, down at the #WeedyPond in early November, a Grey Wagtail has taken up temporary residence. There's still a few Chiffchaffs about and more a more winter thrushes are arriving - Redwings, Fieldfares & Song Thrushes.

A single Waxwing was a nice surprise at Hawkswick Moor YWT, nr Arncliffe this morning. It was watched flycatching from the treetops. Also,800+ Fieldfares, 200+ Redwings. @northyorksbirds.bsky.social

A large movement of Woodpigeons today saw 25,948 south this morning, mostly before 8am! Ringing was generally quiet but still produced 17 Redwings and 4 Song Thrush #dorsetbirds

What a beautiful walk! Birds: Goldeneye (1st on the mere for 2 years, my 110 species for the year on patch), Ravens (chasing off 2 youngsters today), Grey Wagtail, Fieldfares, Redwings, Tufted Ducks, Mute Swans, Pinkies, Mipits, Kingfisher, Siskins, 1st Redpoll of Autumn etc!
