Only learning about the Bella Nillson / Think Pink scandal now but remarkable how similar it is to the RedCycle scandal in Australia.
I think we can be pretty confident these revelations only cover a small fraction of the un-revealed deception going on in this industry

I'm surprised that RedCycle was even allowed to operate - soft plastics were never recyclable! I think their strategy was to stockpile the stuff until a warehouse fire conveniently disposed of it all, and then repeat the process down the road...

There definitely needs to be a name or a phrase or something for "a predatory business model that delivers the service of pretending to treat a societal problem at its end stage, so as to avoid any material action to prevent it at its first stage"

Redcycle (plastics recycling) went broke 2 years ago and nothing has replaced it.
Why not charge Colesworthdi for each tonne of waste packaging they produce, with a rebate for each tonne they collect and 100% recycle?

This was my thought this week, when I read that supermarkets are re-starting the Redcycle program. Brands have a responsibility to reduce their packaging, not increase the amount of plastic, as seems to be the case.

They used to do it but closed that program about 2 years ago with the REDcycle becoming insolvent after the factory fire.
