The RESILAO team is working with Brava Island’s community to protect local biodiversity.

Women involved in fishing-related activities on the Brava Islands participated in an experience exchange held on Maio Island, in partnership with the FMB – Maio Biodiversity Foundation, as part of the RESILAO project coordinated by PRCM.

Represented in Nice by the Executive Director, we kicked off our international participation with the FFEM workshop, funder of the #RESILAO project.

Under the RESILAO project, our team engaged in open dialogue with fishermen and fishmongers from Furna, Fajã d’Água, Lomba and Tantum to reflect on the importance of Marine Protected Areas for Brava Island.

From August 5–7, Projecto Vitó joined a regional workshop in Saly, under the RESILAO project by PRCM. The event brought together West African partners to share experiences and strengthen capacities in project development and coastal resilience.

As part of the RESILAO project, and in partnership with the
FMB - Maio Biodiversity Foundation, 4 women from 3 fishing communities on the Brava island are benefiting from a learning exchange programme between women in the fishing and related sectors on the Maio and Brava islands.

On Brava Island, we held two activities: a shark and ray conservation workshop, and an awareness session under the RESILAO Project on climate and environmental resilience. Both support ocean protection and community empowerment.
