RIALM is so good!! i love prim proper ladies AND i love when girls rock out and get sweaty and yell at each other like the guy from whiplash and it seems too good to be true we get all that in one show. narratives about leading secret double lives will always be special

Thinking about the girls band anime that have blown up in the past few years - Bocchi The Rock, Girls Band Cry, MyGO/Ave Mujica, etc. - RiaLM is noticably unpolished. You just can't turn a blind eye to how blatantly the performances rely on CG models aren't especially fluidly animated either.

MyGO I actually find very impressive for managing to capture the dynamism of a performance and language between its performers, while largely remaining relatively grounded in the visual direction.

RIALM 13: I don't know why I expected anything other than this ending. Damn near perfect. I loved the bit near the start where we get Otoha's perspective and the sound gradually dims.. but yeah, it was totally ridiculous but also fantastic.

And ultimately, RiaLM has a leg up in that the songs are actually GOOD ASS SONGS. None of that seishun J-pop pansy shit, we're rocking out here. We're not bothering making the voice actors have to play together in some future fan concert - let's get some legends who can REALLY play.
