Three years to the day since Dad died. He is in my thoughts every day and in my dreams every night. He led an inspiring, beautiful life of imparting knowledge, wisdom, and love. But the tragedy of all that dementia inflicted on him remains deeply painful.

After losing my father mentally a few years ago to Alzheimer’s I lost him physically today.
It was peaceful and it was time.
He loved ice cream until the very end and so I shall toast him with a spoonful or many tonight.
