Ranchi, June 19 (SocialNews.XYZ) Allegations and counter-allegations have started flying in the INDIA bloc in Jharkhand as the defeat of Congress candidate Pranav Jha in the Rajya Sabha elections triggered a sharp exchange of words between the alliance partners. Within hours of the results, the Congress accused its allies -- the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Communist Party of India-Marxist-Leninist (CPI-ML) -- of cross-voting. Both parties, however, rejected the charge and hit back, questioning the Congress’s organisational control and its hold over its own MLAs. Elections to two Rajya Sabha seats saw JMM’s Baijnath Ram and NDA-backed Independent candidate Parimal Nathwani emerge victorious on Thursday, while Congress nominee Jha lost despite the INDIA bloc having numerical strength in the Assembly.
