Il-96PU Airborne Command Post RA-96022 RSD956 flew east and then back to Moscow like an RSD98X ‘Day Tripper’ flight.

Additionally, On 30 Jul Il-96PU CAMBER Airborne Command Post RA-96016 RSD956 flew to Yakutsk and is returning on 31 Jul. This is interesting as RSD956 is a ‘Day Tripper’ CS/FCN. It could have also ‘dropped off’ holiday makers in Yakutsk.

These ICBM tests at Kura are not limited to launch and reentry vehicle performance. Russia uses them to exercise the full nuclear C3 chain, from Presidential authority through airborne command relay to warhead impact at Kura. RSD956 is a critical node in that chain.

On 07 Sep Il-96PU Airborne Command Post RA-96022 RSD956 took off from Moscow (VKO) and is headed east (after a little circle near Kazan – Spoofer?). This was Putin’s main aircraft before RA-96024 & RA-96025 were delivered.

Russia's Ilyushin Il-96-300PU airborne presidential command post, callsign RSD956, often called the "Flying Kremlin" or "Doomsday Plane", departed Vnukovo at 11:23 AM Moscow time and is currently tracking eastbound at 33,000 ft on a great circle route consistent with Kamchatka.
